Millions of people around the world suffer from some form of kidney disease. There are several causes and unfortunately, many of them are not well understood. We believe there are early biological markers that may show if a person is likely to develop kidney disease.

By participating in KINDRED, you can join the network of doctors and scientists at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH), who are working tirelessly to find ways to treat and even prevent kidney disease across the world.

One of the conditions that we will be testing for is Fabry disease.  Fabry disease is a rare inherited disorder that can cause kidney disease in men.  We hope to learn more to prevent and treat this disease.
